Interesting that you guys have had issues, I've had mine since the fall and haven't had any problems. It's spent most of it's life with either a 2.6m ViperJet or a 1/5 BVM F-16 on it. I live in southern Louisiana, you don't get much more humid. I have noticed that I have to occasionally tightened the knurled black knobs on the arms but other than that its been a very useful tool. One reason I might not be having as many issues is I sealed all the wood a good coat of Minwax satin poly before putting it together.

But, even so when was working on my new Matrix early this month, the stand let go and the fuselage crashed to the ground. The fuselage was damaged. That really made me mad so I got rid of the thing. The other times it let go over night, the stand collapsed and the airplane hit the ground, each time damaging the air airplane.

The new folding stands from Banana Hobbies are really nice.
Strange. Baltic Birch ply or most plywoods for that matter don't usually have these problems. Mine was so tight in terms of adjustments I used a little furniture paste wax to loosen it up. I would have tried some large star locking washers before trashing it but after dropping three aircraft, I could see why you'd want nothing to do with it.
