I am working on new instrument for TF giant scale Thunderbolt. Here is a picture of template and instruments layout.
I hope that Horizon hobby is going to keep the TopFlite kits production.

Great thread! Thought I'd post pics of mine too. Bought it three years ago. VQ Warbirds (this one's been discontinued; bought
extra parts for it too). Flying with a DLE 30cc. Flies very scale-like. One of my favorite big gassers.

Hi there, I have the Hangar 9 p47 Razorback 150 size. It’s the Olive drab with yellow checkered tail type 81”. I’m needing to do a repair to the cowl, which means repainting the red ring around the front of the cowl. Has anyone matched the colour to an off the shelf paint? Thanks in advance, any tips would be appreciated.

cheers

Take the cowl to a place where they have paint samples and they can scan the color and match it. Paint it with latex, wait a couple weeks and then spray it with auto clear coat. I have the same plane and munched the cowl after flipping the plane off the roof of a hanger. I made repairs, lost a few panel lines, but was able to make a mold of it, and then matched the drab and gray colors and painted the cowl. Left the ring off though, want it a little different from the rest.

Thanks, that looks like a great finish. I just wanted to repair the small area which meant touching up the red. I suppose I could just repaint the entire red ring.

For anyone who has built the Top Flite GS P-47, if you still have the plans, can you give me the sizes of them? If I have mine scaled properly, they are almost 48" wide, and don't know how to get them printed out if they are that tall. Whats interesting is the wing plans I printed out and the are under 36" tall, but the wing is 1 1/2" too wide, so I am wondering if somehow I got the scaling wrong, so if anyone can answer this, greatly appreciated.

Block off the cylinders that are not aligned with the Engine cylinders to help with cooling. In other words make a baffle behind the dummy cylinders.

Got my plans printed out for the Top Flite GS and looks like the parts are lining up. Won't be long and I can cut short kits.

Iīm not sure what Great Planes you P-47 you mean, but the pylons will work with the TopFlite giant scale P-47, same as the other our items designed for P-47.

P-47 Thunderbolt rudder pedals. Be aware there are several sellers who sell the P-51 rudder pedals and claim, that those are designed for P-47. Letīs see following pictures. There you can see the differents.
